Born and raised in the South, Jane Macedo Yang (she/they) is a queer Chinese-Cambodian/Mexican-American filmmaker. Jane specializes as a cinematographer and editor, and is also experienced in producing.

As the daughter of a refugee and immigrants, she aims to highlight underrepresented stories and voices, as well as stories focused on social justice and international issues, the environment and our connection to it, and on identity and community. Jane is also passionate about telling stories exploring the human condition, of art and culture, and those that can amplify advocacy and engagement.

Her work has been featured on an Emmy-award winning series on PBS, Netflix, Snapchat, National Geographic, and others. Jane is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600), the Documentary Cinematographers Alliance, Video Consortium, Brown Girls Doc Mafia, and A-Doc

Jane is based in Brooklyn, and is currently working as Senior Filmmaker for the company and brand, AlphaSense.
